Voter Suppression
It is now well known that ONLY republicans engaged in numerous changes to voting procedures in an attempt to block or dissuade voters that would not vote for them. This is NOT opinion. It is well documented. I don't understand why they have to engage in such unethical practices. If voters liked their ideas wouldn't they vote that way? The more people vote the less likely that republicans will win.

Republican Broward County Sherriff Al Lamberti Linked To Ponzi Scheme Leader Scott Rothstein
Ponzi Criminal Scott Rothstein and his associates gave at least $225,000 to elect Republican County Sheriff Al Lamberti.
Sun-Sentinel, February 10, 2010: "Lamberti did not respond to questions from the Sun-Sentinel, including what he meant by friendship and his offer of assistance."
Lamberti wrote to Rothstein on December 22, 2008 using his official letterhead; "I appreciate your friendship over the past year. If I may be of assistance to you, whatsoever, either professionally or personally, please feel free to call me." Sun-Sentinel, February 10, 2010.
CHANNEL 10 REPORTED BSO Detective Jeffrey Poole performed illegal acts at Rothstein's direction, including detaining the estranged wife of of a Rothstein business associate on false charges. Sun-Sentinel, September 28, 2012.
SUN-SENTINEL REPORTED that BSO Lieutenant, David Benjamin, drove Rothstein to his private plane get-a-way in a BSO patrol car and helped Rothstein flee the Country with $16 million in a duffle bag. Lieutenant Benjamin was paid $30,000 by Rothstein. Benjamin has not been reprimanded, demoted or fired and remains at BSO at full pay. Sun-Sentinel, April 24, 2011.
Lamberti’s tenure as Sheriff is strewn with dirt. On the record are other examples like his top paid political advisor Bill Lewis, a convicted armed cocaine trafficker, whom Lamberti didn’t fire until Lewis was arrested for domestic violence. Lamberti said he has no responsibility for knowing the background of the people working for him. To me, that’s enough to remove Lamberti from the office of Sheriff. And don’t forget Lamberti’s miserable anti-gay record.
ReplyDeleteScott Rothstein is probably the biggest 2012 election issue in the Sheriff race. His close involvement with Sheriff Lamberti is a very real concern for Broward citizens. But not the only concern. Lamberti’s record of close associations with criminals, his department’s culture of thuggery and discriminatory practices against LGBT employees and civilians has shown us that we need a new Sheriff for the betterment of our county. Elect Scott Israel.
